Objective
Comparing several WiFi Antenna on the 2.4GHz network.
Setup
1. Raspberry Pi 5 modified with antenna socket
2. Short 150mm cable from PCB IPEX connector to RP-SMA connector
3. Antenna connected to RP-SMA connector
4. WiFi interface power management turned off
Tests
Test script:
- Capture Access Point MAC Address
- Perform 3 iwconfig checks of the gain with 5 seconds between
- Perform a speedtest-cli
- Perform 3 iwconfig checks of the gain with 5 seconds between
Baseline
For tests performed after the main test suite (21/05/2025), the results are normalised, and compared to baseline antenna from DrayTek Vigor Modem (No extension cable used, apart from the XXXX)
